What is AAC?

AAC — Augmentative and Alternative Communication — is any way of communicating besides talking. For people who are nonspeaking or whose speech is hard to understand, a symbol-and-word app like SayThrough becomes their voice: they tap to build a message, and the device speaks it aloud.

Private by default

SayThrough is local-first: your profiles, vocabulary, and messages stay on your device. There's no account, and nothing anyone says or types ever leaves the device. The app checks in while it is open so we can see how many people use it. That check-in carries a random code that is thrown away when you close it — not a name, an account, or anything that identifies you — and you can turn it off in Settings.

The code is public, so anyone can verify how it works and how it protects privacy — and the community can help make it better.
